I remained focused on mexican selection during the last few days of feratum 2014, so much so that i stopped watching absolutely all the national classic films presented at the festival. Unfortunately, the trend of the first two days continued, and the quality of the final result was, to put it mildly, disappointing. The third day of the festival began with están aquí, a mexican band that won the best screenplay award from here. It was such a strange, inexplicable decision, due to the fact that if there is nothing left for the film, it is a damn competent script. Están aquí is a typical no-budget movie, a film shot entirely in one location, in which everything depends on the mix of actors and, of course, the creative script. It tries to tell the story of an alien. An invasion, but only a guess, as there was definitely no means to move on to the next step with the alien material. It's natural, and thus many films have come to the conclusion that they don't need abundant resources to be effective, notably the single best mexican sci-fi film of the year: the incident by isaac ezban, where the first half was filmed in the same location as three actors. Only, but with clever thoughts and an intriguing story. In estan-aki, a family is stuck in a vault because an apparent alien invasion is taking place outside. The father is fully convinced that the invasion is possible, but some other family members do not believe him too much. There will be conflict because it is a classic setting, but están aquí is badly done in every detail. The acting, the conversations and the situations are ludicrous, which made some of the scenes at least fun to watch. The penultimate mexican movie i saw in feratum was desde el más allá. Even if it was an unfinished version, it was by far the most professional work of the alucard section. After these formalities of a mexican double film, our company had the opportunity to enjoy the long-awaited horror anthology abc of death 2. Some fragments were disappointing, for example, bill plimpton's "h" for "head games" and aaron keshales and navot papuchado's "f" for "falling" ( i was expecting much more.) From the creators of big bad wolves), but a lot of them were unbelievably great. The abc of death 2 is a must-have with efforts like larry fessenden's brilliantly edited n is for nexus, the amazing r stands for "roulette" , a split-screen masterpiece by juan martínez moreno, the 's' stands for 'split', jerome sable's brutal v stands for 'vacations', and souichi umezawa's visually impressive y stands for 'youth'. The best review of abc of death 2 by screenanarchy can be read here. Oddly enough, abc of death 2 was not the final film of the festival, but was shown before the awards ceremony (read about the awarded films here) . The real final event was a really strange choice: a porn movie called la jefa. Feratum turned out to be the most random festival in mexico, and probably more porn films will come in the next planting season, as this screening turned out to be immensely successful, even if the entire movie was not shown at the festival.

It was more of a direct advertisement for sexmex, a new porn site from mexico. Sexmex and the director of la jefa attended the screening, which consisted of an edited 10-minute preview of the film. The fact that our blog found a movie here was funny (it's about an office man who hypnotizes his voluptuous boss and fulfills his wishes), and the wishes and answers are actually much longer and more beautiful for you than any other in the whole festival. However, i'd much rather see both wolf cop and captain falcon - or a selection of fantasy films from china - and hong kong, announced by feratum but never released by the way - than this is a preview of a porn movie. However, that's just me.

During the fourth and final day of feratum (sunday, october 5th) i only had the chance to see one movie before pouring into mexico city. Christian gonzalez's muñécas ciegas played in the main theater and again, [onlyfans tube] the displayed quality was far from decent. González is truly the so-called mexican king of the video house, and among his works are the popular underground videos ritmo, tración y muerte: la cumbia asesina. But the classic muñecas ciegas is not. The film is barely watchable, with the first part checked out, but the second half pointless. It all starts with a man who manages to take interesting girls home solely to gouge their eyes out. This horror story is presented in both sepia and black and white, but color is later introduced as new characters are discovered, including a couple of lovers and a psychologist. It's a mess in the cinema and trying to understand how things are connected is almost impossible. In mexico city, i had the opportunity to talk with gonzalez himself. A true gentleman taking muñécas ciegas is not his best act. "Look ritmo, traición y muerte: la cumbia asesina, this is my real pearl," gonzalez told me before i went home after 4 days of taking feratum.
